Greekish Turkey Burger: A Family Recipe with Mediterranean Flair
Looking for a healthy, Mediterranean-inspired turkey burger? These Greekish Turkey Burgers are packed with fresh vegetables, aromatic herbs, and bold flavors—perfect for lunch, dinner, or entertaining a crowd.
This recipe comes from my mother’s personal collection of cherished family recipes. Passed down through generations, it combines wholesome ingredients with the warm, vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean. Whether you’re cooking for the family or meal-prepping for the week, these Mediterranean turkey burgers are both nutritious and delicious.

Why These Greek Turkey Burgers Are Healthy
Mediterranean diet–friendly: high in protein, full of vegetables, healthy fats from avocado and olive oil
Low in processed ingredients: uses wholesome herbs and vegetables for flavor
Customizable toppings: choose your favorite cheeses, greens, and sauces
Ingredients:
2 lb ground turkey (93% lean recommended)
1 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 red or green bell pepper, finely chopped
1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
4 Tbs Bragg's Amino Sauce (or salt, to taste)
1 tsp Greek oregano
1 tsp rosemary
Dash of cinnamon
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 egg
1 Tbs almond milk (or milk of your choice: oat milk, regular milk)
Optional Add Ins:
2 cups finely chopped super greens (spinach or a super greens mix)
1/4 cup breadcrumbs (for binding, if needed; usually not needed)

Instructions:
Prepare the vegetables:
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat with 1 cup of chicken broth.
Add onions, bell pepper, and mushrooms, and sauté until softened.
Set aside to chill completely.
Mix the patties:
In a large bowl, combine 2 lbs ground turkey, the beaten egg with milk, and any optional fresh, finely chopped greens.
Add the chilled sautéed vegetables.
Mix gently until just combined—be careful not to overwork the meat.
Form and chill:
Shape the mixture into 6–8 equal patties.
Refrigerate for 15–30 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.
Cook the burgers:
Heat a skillet or grill over medium heat.
Lightly oil the surface with olive oil or preferred cooking oil.
Cook the patties for 5–6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the outside is golden brown.
Assemble and serve:
Toast your buns if desired.
Layer with greens, a turkey patty, avocado, tomato, and feta cheese.
Enjoy immediately!

Make a double batch and freeze uncooked patties between layers of parchment paper for quick meals later.
